Human Resource Generalists

Background

 

Human Resource Generalists (HR Gen) is a group of skilled people who assists companies, especially business, in human resource related issues.  Our core business is training and development as well as human resource management.  We offer a list of pre-designed training packages (linked to competencies or unit standards) but are not limited to these as we design and develop new training programmes according to our client’s needs. We also offer facilitation to train new/exciting learning packages.  We cover HR related affairs, including administration e.g. PAYE (pay as you earn) labour relations, people management, recruitment and selection.

 

HR Gen is an accredited training provider with the ETDP (Education of Training and Development Practitioners) Seta (Sector of Education and Training Authority). It is the brainchild of Paula Schoeman, managing member with skills in human resource management.  Her experience as a human resource manager and her MBA (2001) qualification adds to a holistic approach to the business.  Project management is a fundamental aspect of her expertise.  She is both facilitator and a qualified assessor, a specialist in her field.

 

Susan Cerenko adds to the team’s training and development skills.  She has an honours degree in manpower strategy and labour relations. She is a qualified ETDP practitioner, specializing in design and development of outcomes-based assessments, learning programs and learning related materials.  She conducts targeted training and development using given methodologies, facilitation of adult learning events, assessments and moderation and is also a qualified SDF (Skills Development Facilitator).

 

Mignon Smit joined the team as qualified instructional designer, (MEd. Instructional Design 1999) which involves all aspects of the training/learning design, development, implementation and evaluation of any subject matter content.  She specialises in computer based testing, online learning, HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language), learning blogs, wiki’s and other web related learning environments, which adds value and interaction to training programmes. Online learning includes knowledge of HTML, which makes any learning platform accessible e.g. WebCT, ActivLearn, Blackboard and many more.

 

In total we each have more than 10 years experience in our specific fields, and our total experience amounts to approximately 45 years.

The philosophy behind HR Gen is to provide a unique, independent, personalised service, flexible to answer all the needs of a busy, growing enterprise without compromising accuracy, confidentiality and customer care. We have the knowledge, skills and attitude to adapt to any existing company structures, and the know-how to identify and implement new structures, should the need arise.
